I just finished reading this book after owning it for a year. It’s not that I haven’t felt like reading it, it’s just that I haven’t had time. I started it for the 5th time a month or so ago and vowed to actually finish it. This book is worth the money and may change your outlook on “stuff and things” when it comes to your kids (and maybe your life too!). I love it. You can purchase it on Amazon or learn more about it on the Simplicity Parenting website.

Parenting Through Art Direction
I came across this article and thought it worth a read. The design nerd in me couldn’t help but giggle at this part especially:
An Ikea child would feel stifled and confused in the home of a Pottery Barn kid. Except for the wicker baskets. They both have wicker baskets.
It’s more than several years old but it certainly hits the nail on the head!

I really fell in love with this Dwell Studio set, but the price tag is still a bit ouch.
$450 Dwell Studio
Includes: bumper, fitted sheet, skirt, and blanket
While browsing pb kids I found something similiar!
$208 Pottery Barn Kids
Includes: bumper, quilt
So it’s short a sheet and a bedskirt, but those don’t cost much compared to the $200+ dollars you’d save by going this route. And you can mix and match. Or buy pink / blue / purple / green / whatever when you find out the sex. Or even use another printed sheet.
